I was born in Nuevo Laredo, a small town located right at the border between
Mexico and Texas. My passion for music started when I was about five years old,
and I participated on as many kindergarten music festivals as I could.
Later on, being a teenager I learned to play acoustic guitar, and composed my first songs.
I published a couple of them and others were my entry pass to singing competitions
organized by a local radio station. I participated on singing festivals, recorded jingles
for radio commercials, and even worked as a wedding singer for a short amount of time.
I gained much experience from all these performances. However, I always sang in Spanish,
my native language. When my family and I moved to Texas, I never thought that English
would represent a language barrier to slow down my pace towards becoming a popular singer.
Some years ago, when social media and Internet videos were not around, I unsuccessfully attempted to make it big singing in Spanish for the Latin music market in the U.S.
I like to think that it was not the right time for me yet, because other great things
were about to happen in my life; I got married to my beautiful wife Angélica,
I became the father of my two greatest treasures, Samuel and Daniela, and also
approved all tests to become an educator in Texas where I work as a music teacher.
This last accomplishment helped me realize that English won't stop me from
pursuing my dream to become a successful singer in this country full of opportunities.
For the contrary, it opens a whole new world of possibilities to make it big.
Today, stronger than before, my wish is to become a popular singer who can share
his talent with people around the world. It will be the best way to inspire my current and former students, teaching them by example that we must never give up on our dreams.
Before my dad's passing, his very last words to me were,
"Be happy. Don't ever let anyone nor anything stop you from being happy".
I must honor his life by following his advise; by living a happy life
while doing what I am truly passionate about, singing.
